Transfer Issues
- If you have attended a regionally accredited two- or four-year institution and have earned a grade of "C-" or better in your courses, most of the courses you have taken will transfer to Otterbein. A few may not. We evaluate your credits on a course-by-course basis to give you the maximum credit earned toward your Otterbein degree. You will then receive a copy of the official transfer credit evaluation. To transfer courses into the nursing curriculum, you must have earned a "C" or better in nursing prerequisite courses. Additionally, the Department of Education requires that you have a 2.5 (after your credit evaluation) in order to pursue a degree in Education.
- A minimum of 180 quarter hours is required for all bachelor's degrees. In addition to transferred courses, credit may be earned by CLEP or departmental exams. You must complete 60 quarter hours in residence at Otterbein to qualify for an Otterbein degree including 15 in your major and 10 in the liberal arts core.
- Prospective transfer students are encouraged to complete an application for financial aid as early as possible. Please submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a financial aid transcript from any institutions previously attended, regardless of whether or not you received financial assistance from that institution.
