Work-Study Program

Federal Work-Study is a federally-funded program which provides on-campus or community service employment. Once enrolled and attending classes, students complete job application forms and arrange interviews with prospective employers. Students may work up to 20 hours a week while classes are in session. The amount of work study awarded to the student by Financial Aid is the maximum that may be earned by the student during the academic year. Students will be paid on the 10th of each month for actual hours worked during the previous month.

Non Federal Work-Study
Opportunities are available to students who do not qualify for the need-based Federal Work-Study program. Interested students must apply and be approved by the Financial Aid Office to be eligible to work. Students will be paid on the 10th of each month for actual hours worked during the previous month.

For both Federal Work Study and Non-Federal Work Study, the timesheet must be turned in to Payroll by the last day of the month. Any timesheets received after the 3rd of the month will not be processed until the following pay period.

Community Service
Otterbein has strong ties to the surrounding community. A number of the off- and on-campus positions allow students to assist the greater Westerville community. See the Center of Community Engagement's site for more information about Otterbein's involvement in the community.
