Edward C. Tomlinson is a doctoral candidate in Labor and Human Resources
at the Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. His primary
research and teaching interests deal with conflict resolution and
negotiation. In addition, he has co-authored several recent papers dealing
with compensation systems in virtual organizations, panel interviews as a
selection device, research methods in employee theft, and rebuilding broken
trust in negotiation contexts. |

Denton teaches MBA courses in Communications & Negotiations and the Legal Environment of Business. He is also an adjunct professor at Antioch University - McGregor, where he teaches Negotiation in the Masters Program in Conflict Resolution.
Denton consults, trains, and coaches in the areas of negotiation, decision process design, and organizational attunement and collaboration. He also provides services as a mediator and arbitrator, specializing in business, labor and employment, and workplace disputes. Denton is an Associate Director of Operations for the School of Biomedical Science and Manager of the Department of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University Medical Center. The School consists of over 550 faculty and staff with an annual budget of over $12M and over $30M in extramural funding. Prior to working at the OSU Medical Center, Denton was an attorney at Downes, Hurst & Fishel, where he practiced labor and employment law. Denton holds a Certificate in Dispute Resolution and a law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law. He served as Business Editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution, received awards for his papers on alternative dispute resolution, and earned first place in the annual Negotiation Competition. Denton also holds an MBA from The OSU Fisher College of Business, where he majored in strategy/consulting, received Fisher’s highest award, and won the "Best Q&A" Award in the Big 10 Case Competition. He received his bachelor's degree in economics and English from Brigham Young University. |
