Process for Students

Students that have been awarded Work-Study
Step 1: Student picks up work study hiring packet at Financial Aid Office.
Step 2: Student should interview with the employer.
Step 3: If hired, the hiring packet should be given to the employer to complete with the student.
Step 4: Student should return the Hiring Card to the Financial Aid Office.
Step 5: If the student does not have an I-9 on file they will need to complete one immediately in the Financial Aid Office.
Step 6: Student can now begin to work.

Students that have not been awarded Work-Study
Step 1: Student should interview with the employer.
Step 2: If hired, the employer needs to complete a Request for Work Study form and return it to Financial Aid.
Step 3: Once the student is awarded work study the student and supervisor will be notified. The Student can now pick up work study hiring packet at Financial Aid Office.
Step 4: The hiring packet should be given to the employer to complete with the student.
Step 5: Student should return the Hiring Card to the Financial Aid Office.
Step 6: If the student does not have an I-9 on file they will need to complete one immediately in the Financial Aid Office.
Step 7: Student can now begin to work.

Once you begin working, keep track of your hours and income paid to stay within your awarded federal work study / non federal work study amount by using the tool Work Study Tracker (linked on the Forms page).
