Chris Grant '88
Hi, my name is Chris Grant. I graduated from Otterbein in 1988 with a major in chemistry. I am currently a Senior Development Chemist for DuPont Performance Elastomers working in fluoroelastomer development.
As a student, Otterbein became an extension of my family and was a second home to me. My fondest memories are of meeting my wife Susan and discovering lifelong friends whom we are still close to. Otterbein was also where my sister and two cousins enjoyed their college days. Our visits to campus are now often limited by time and distance, but Otterbein always welcomes us back and we feel at home when we return.
The alumni club has become a wonderful way to stay connected with our extended college family between visits. For alumni like us whose lives have taken them far from the peaceful village, the clubs bridge the distance to provide a connection to Otterbein that would otherwise be missed. Through the Akron/Canton club we have made many new friends with whom we share the strong common bond that is Otterbein. Come join us!

When I decided to attend Otterbein, it was a big step for me: it is 400 miles from where I grew up (Tennessee), and I didn't know anyone in the entire state of Ohio! But I was excited about the Equine Science program, my major, and I immediately felt at home when I arrived on campus. The people I met as I moved into the dorm, and even before that at orientation, are still some of my closest friends-- and one of them, Chris, is now my husband. They are central to the many fond memories I have of my time at OC.
In the OC alumni club I have met others who share this enthusiasm for their time at Otterbein, and we enjoy comparing stories from our time there. The club provides a way for us to stay connected to both this special place, and to the new friends we have made who have shared this experience. We are always happy to meet and welcome others to be a part of the fun.
