Presidential Inauguration

Join us as we inaugurate Otterbein's 20th president, Kathy A. Krendl, on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Rike Center. A luncheon will follow to celebrate and mingle. Details.

100th Anniversary of the Marching Band at Otterbein

This Homecoming marks the centennial celebration for marching bands at Otterbein. All alumni who participated in the Cardinal Marching Band and auxiliary groups are invited to participate. Activities are scheduled throughout the weekend with guest conductors including Jeff Boehm '82, Jeff Kunkel, Jim Morgan, John Orr '79, Jim Shackson '61, Gary Tirey '90, and Don Wolfe '71. ROTC and Angel Flight Reunion

A buffet dinner and program at Old Bag of Nails on Friday, October 23 at 5:30 p.m. will celebrate the dedication of those who gave their time by serving in the Otterbein AFROTC and the Angel Flight program. Register online by October 21. More information.

Immeasurably More . . . Throughout Generations: OCF 25th Anniversary

OCF will celebrate its 25th anniversary at this year's homecoming. Saturday, October 24 at 5 p.m. in the Campus Center. All are invited to a family dinner. $10 per person in advance, $12 at the door, $5 ages 6-12, and free under 5. At 6:30 p.m., everyone is invited to the Church of the Master (across from Towers Hall) for a family friendly contemporary celebration. Register online by October 19.

Homecoming Tailgate

Before you head off to watch either men's soccer vs. Ohio Northern or football vs. rival Capital, enjoy a picnic lunch and the Cardinal Family Festival, including inflatables, Columbus Zoo animals, a community service project and much more. Cost for the meal is $6 for 12 and up, $3 for 6-11, and free for 5 and under.

Athletics

What is Homecoming without sports? Come show your cardinal pride at multiple athletic events on Saturday, Oct. 24. Help "Can Capital" by bringing canned goods to the Otterbein football game against Capital University at 2 p.m. All proceeds will go to local food banks. OC Men's Soccer will be playing against Ohio Northern University at 2 p.m. It's Community Athletic Day - all athletic events are free!

Dance Through the Decades

All alumni are invited to attend an off-campus Homecoming dance sponsored by the Alumni Club of Central Ohio held on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Holiday Inn Worthington at 7007 N. High St., just south of the Worthington Mall. A cash bar will be available along with prizes, games, and much more! Cost is $15 per person, $25 per couple. Register online.

Out for Blood

Join us on October 16 as we attempt to beat rival Capital University in a blood drive from 1-7 p.m. in the Otterbein Campus Center. Sign up here to donate or call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543). The winning school will be presented with a trophy during the pregame football ceremony on Saturday.

Up 'Til Dawn 5k Fun Walk/Run

Saturday, October 24 will mark the 2nd Annual 5k Fun Run/Walk sponsored by Up 'Til Dawn to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The event starts at 8:45 a.m. in front of the Campus Center. Cost is $7 in advance and $10 on the day of the event. Register online by Oct. 23.

Reunions

Take a step back in time and come join in the fun of the reunion gatherings! Reunions at this year's homecoming include class the cluster years for '74 – '79, the class of '84, the class of '89, the class of '94, the class of '99, the class of '04. Reunion gatherings will be held at the Holiday Inn Worthington. Visit with past faculty/staff members, reminisce about photos, play "Name That Tune" and make your mark on a graffiti wall. African American Alumni Network Annual Dinner

The African American Alumni Network Annual Homecoming dinner will be at Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Campus Center rooms 2-3.

Cost is $10 for alumni, $5 for students, faculty and staff. Guest speaker will be Dr. Andrea Brown '99. She will be speaking on her "Journey to a Ph.D." Register online.
