Mark Ewing '99

Mark_EwingHome: Columbus, OH

Hometown: Columbus, Ohio

Occupation:Assistant Director of the Physical Plant at Otterbein College

Major at Otterbein: Philosophy

What have you been doing since your graduation from Otterbein? I have worked at Otterbein for 21 years. When I'm not on campus I stay busy with all my ladies at home. My wife, Patricia, and I have four daughters: Cynthia, Katherine, Rebecca and Emily. We also have a golden retriever, Dolly. I remodel our house, root for the Buckeyes, and am very active in our church leading worship and training other worship leaders.

What interest and/or hobbies do you have? I play and build guitars and I enjoy reading.

What is a special Otterbein memory? Having worked at Otterbein for 21 years I certainly have plenty of memories. My degree from Otterbein is actually my second degree. I enjoy studying Philosophy so I took as many classes as I could over the years and eventually I finished the requirements for a second degree. For years I played a key role in preparing campus for the "big day" each year, graduation day, and suddenly it was my turn at Otterbein. I had the option to participate in the ceremony or not. I have four daughters and at the time two of them were in high school so I chose to march in the ceremony as an example to them. That was a very special day for the Ewing family.
