W's Soccer Ready for Opportunity Ahead
With the NCAA Round of 16 beginning Saturday, the Otterbein women's
soccer team prepares to try and become the first group in program
history to advance to a sectional final. All that stands in the way is
the nation's top-ranked team.

Lady Cards to Battle Messiah in Sweet 16
The ninth-ranked Otterbein women's soccer team takes on #1 Messiah (PA) Saturday afternoon in
the sectionals of the NCAA Division III women's soccer tournament.
First-kick is scheduled for noon from Johns Hopkins University.
Three Earn Volleyball Academic All-OAC
Seniors Marinda Roderick and Leah Yoder, and sophomore Lindsey Russell
all earn spots on the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team,
announced the league office Wednesday morning.
Carter, Knox Earn Academic All-America
A pair of juniors in goalkeeper Tara Carter and defender Jenny Knox earn
selections to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America women's soccer
first team.
Women's Hoops Ready to Bounce Back
After its first losing season this decade, the Otterbein women's
basketball team returns three starters and eight letterwinners to get
back to its winning ways in 2009-10. Prior to last year, the team had
ten straight winning seasons.
Pollock, Ratai Lead Cards into 2009-10
Seniors Brian Pollock and Cory Ratai headline the list of seven
returning lettermen to the Otterbein men's basketball team. The
Cardinals open the 2009-10 season Friday at the Case Western Reserve
Tournament.
SAAC Provides Food for Local Families
The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently helped provide
seven local Westerville families with a Thanksgiving meal.
Reinhart Earns OAC Player of Week
The OAC names senior linebacker Donnie Reinhart "defensive player of the
week" for his 14-tackle performance in Otterbein's 24-22 win over John
Carroll.
Football Cards Escape With Win Over JCU
23rd-ranked Otterbein, needing a win to keep its playoff hopes alive,
earned a 24-22 victory over visiting John Carroll Saturday afternoon at
Memorial Stadium. Ryan Rowley hauls in six balls for 90 yards and a
score while Colton Coy rushes for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
CC Teams Take 8th, 11th at Regional Meet
Otterbein men's cross country ran its way to an eighth place
finish Saturday at the NCAA Regionals while the women's squad finished
11th. Chris Fyock and Tim Williard earn All-Region for the men while
Andie Pautsch earned All-Region on the women's side.
Eight Earn All-OAC in Women's Soccer
Jenny Knox, OAC defender of the year, and Tara Carter, OAC goalkeeper of
the year, join midfielder Tara Smith on the All-OAC first team. Eight
members of the NCAA-bound Otterbein squad earn All-OAC honors.
M's Soccer Lands Three on All-OAC Teams
Forward Matt Beckett and midfielder Brandon Shepherd garner second team
All-OAC honors while midfielder Harrison Jones earns honorable mention
honors.
Russell, Nagle Earn Volleyball All-OAC
Sophomore libero Lindsey Russell and freshman middle hitter Ally Nagle
earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. In addition, the coaches
select Nagle as the Freshman of the Year.
Four More Earn ESPN Academic Honors
Women's volleyball player Marinda Roderick and football players
David Ebright, Nick Stelzer, and Sam Watson earn ESPN the Magazine
Academic All-District second team honors in their respective sports.
Soccer Earns Five ESPN Academic Awards
Men's soccer players Auggie Fisher and Matt Beckett, and women's
soccer players Tara Carter, Jenny Knox, and Carly Dent earn ESPN the
Magazine Academic All-District honors, announced this past weekend by
CoSIDA.
