Senior softball player Kelsey Beers, a nursing major, earns
third team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors.
Hiscox Collects Two All-America Awards
In a first for the Otterbein baseball program, junior Brian
Hiscox earns All-America honors in both athletics and academics.
Reynolds Heads to Hall of Fame
Otterbein head men's basketball coach Dick Reynolds is
inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame.
Three Earn ESPN The Magazine Honors
Tennis player Megan Anders, first team, and golfers Catherine
Brunoehler and Natalie King, both second team picks, earn 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic
All-District At-Large honors.
Otterbein Names Three Head Coaches
Otterbein athletic director Dick Reynolds announces the
appointment of three new head coaches: Christine Steines, softball;
David Lehman, men's and women's track and field; and John Lintz, men's
and women's cross country.
Trabue Selected to All-America Team
Senior Heath Trabue earns Third-Team PING All-America honors, as
chosen by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Baseball Trio Earns All-Region Honors
Senior Alex Hayes and juniors Brian Hiscox and Brandon Gessner
have been named to the ABCA All-Mideast Region team. Hiscox and Gessner
earn first-team honors while Hayes takes a spot on the second team.
Golf Cards Take 5th & 13th at NCAA's
The Otterbein women's team turns in the best round of the day
Saturday, finishing fifth while the men's team captures 13th place at
the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's
Golf Championships at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Eight Baseball Cards Named All-OAC
The Otterbein baseball team has eight players earn All-Ohio
Athletic Conference (OAC) honors, the second most of any team in the
league. Brian Hiscox, Brandon Gessner, and Alex Hayes receive spots on
the first-team.
Four Earn ESPN The Magazine Honors
Softball players Kendy and Kelsey Beers, Lauren Tijash, and
baseball player Brian Hiscox earn 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic
All-District honors.
Baseball Falls to Marietta in OAC's
Otterbein suffers a tough 10-9 loss in the ninth inning to
Marietta Saturday afternoon in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.
Brandon Gessner goes 4-for-4 on the day while Brian Hiscox hits his 33rd
career home run to become the school's all-time leader.
Three Earn All-OAC Honors in Tennis
Women's tennis players Brittany Rings, first team, and Cheryl
Thinnes, second team; and men's tennis player Steven Albert, honorable
mention, earn All-OAC honors.

Men's Golf Cards Head to the NCAA's
The Otterbein men's golf team upends two-time defending champion
Mount Union by 13 strokes to win the OAC championship and capture the
automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament scheduled to begin May
13 at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
W's Tennis Bows Out of OAC's
Third-seeded Otterbein loses, 5-2, to second-seeded
Baldwin-Wallace in the OAC Tournament semifinals Friday in Mason.
Petry Chosen as OAC Coach of the Year
Otterbein head golf coach Nathanael Petry has been selected by
his peers as the 2009 Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in
women's golf. He also earned the award in 2008.
