  • The PACE Advantage at COTC
Otterbein College in Westerville and Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) in Newark have been partners since 1998 giving you the opportunity to complete your bachelor’s degree right in your own community. Otterbein College’s PACE (Professional Adult Continuing Education) program is convenient and flexible; developed with adult students in mind and tailored to their personal and professional lives.
  • Otterbein Advantage (a simply exceptional education)

  • Reputation
Founded in 1847, Otterbein is a private, independent coeducational four year liberal arts college, celebrating 158 years of education in the liberal arts tradition. Otterbein welcomes approximately 3,000 students, of which more than 850 are adults pursing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Otterbein has consistently ranked in the top 10 of the annual U.S. News and World Report’s Guide to Americas Best Colleges for over a decade. Otterbein College has an established reputation which expands beyond Academic Excellence. Otterbein has an excellent faculty who recognize the unique talents, experience and commitment of our adult students.
  • Liberal Arts, interdisciplinary
The blend of professional and liberal arts courses educate students to an in-depth and broad understanding of human issues and the theories and practices connected with their chosen field. Our students graduate with enhanced critical thinking skills and keen analytical and writing skills.
Our distinctive core - Integrative Studies - brings the College community together to connect diverse aspects of life, culture, and experience through cross-study in the arts, sciences, and philosophy while emphasizing critical thinking, reasoning, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility
Otterbein’s continuing Studies program offers adult students the flexibility to balance their established personal, professional, and the community commitments. The options of attending classes at Newark at night or weekends allow them to merge education easily into their schedules. Students have the option to register for the entire academic year (Fall, December, Winter and Spring) once in May when the schedules are available to facilitate a smooth course toward graduation. Alternatively, students may choose to register for each quarter individually for maximum flexibility with their personal and professional lives.
  • Accessibility
Otterbein understands the demands on our adult students’ time and their need for quick and easy access to academic services. For this reason, the Office of Continuing Studies emphasizes “one stop shopping, offering adult students assistance with admissions, academic advising, financial aid, registration and payment of fees all within one central office and at the Newark campus. We focus on convenient student services.
  • Variety
The PACE Program provides the opportunity to complete a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies at the Newark campus with 6 interdisciplinary majors to select from. All required courses within the Management and Leadership major are offered in Newark with the exception of the Math courses which must be taken at Otterbein’s main campus to fulfill residency requirements but those courses are offered at night or on the weekends for added convenience. See each of the other majors to review additional courses that may be required on the main campus.
  • PACE Program
The PACE majors are distinctly interdisciplinary in approach, which means you will be able to draw connections among courses in business, communication, computer sciences, psychology, and the liberal arts.
To be successful, today’s business professional must draw from several sources- different perspectives, combinations, of academic disciplines, and thinking styles. You are called upon to pull resources together, make connections and create new solutions. All of Otterbein’s Pace majors are designed to prepare you for the changing demands of today’s workplace.
