Otterbein Community Celebrates Holiday Season
Otterbein College invites the community to celebrate the start of the holiday season at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Thanksgiving Dinner Feast on Friday, Nov. 20, beginning at 5:15 p.m. This year, the event will feature a meet and greet with new President Kathy A. Otterbein Student Named Volunteer of the Year
Otterbein College senior Breanna Watzka has been named Franklin County Volunteer of the Year in Income Development for her work with Colleges Against Cancer and Relay For Life. She will receive a Franklin County Recognition Award on Nov. 5. Read more.


Otterbein Professor Presents Research at National Conference
Kevin Svitana, assistant professor of life and earth sciences, recently delivered two research presentations at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America (GSA), held in Portland, Ore., Oct. 18-21. Approximately 6,000 scientists from across the country attended the exposition. Read more.

Otterbein Concert Choir Celebrates Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church Centennial
The Otterbein College Concert Choir will perform a festive concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, at Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church, 2350 Indianola Ave., Columbus. The concert, celebrating the centennial anniversary of the church, is free and open to the public. More details.

The Corporation for National and Community Service honored Otterbein College with a place on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction for outstanding service efforts. This is the third year Otterbein College has been recognized, and last year the College was given the President's Award for General Community Service through the Honor Roll program. Read more.
