Otterbein College's Department of Communication offers the following majors:

Minor in Broadcasting Required (at least 25 total hours):
- MCOM 110 Radio/Audio Production - 5 hours
- MCOM 120 Fundamentals of Television/Video Production - 5 hours
- MCOM 140 Radio (WOBN FM) - 1 hour
- MCOM 141 Television (WOCC-TV 3) - 1 hour
- Remaining hours from among MCOM 130/140/141/265/320/341/342/343/344/345/
346/347/348/349/360/365/410/450. No more than 6 hours combined from MCOM 140/141/341/342/ 343/344/345/346/347/348/349.
- Consult with a broadcast adviser in constructing the minor.
Minor in Journalism Writing Required (at least 29 total hours):
- JOUR 160 Media Writing - 5 hours
- JOUR 175 Publication Design - 5 hours
- JOUR 260 News Writing and Reporting - 5 hours
- JOUR 360 Computer-Assisted Reporting - 5 hours
- MCOM 410 Media Ethics and Regulation - 5 hours
