Tickets are now on sale for Westerville Symphony 2011-2012 Masterworks Series!
Westerville, Ohio, September 23, 2011: The Westerville Symphony at Otterbein is proud to announce its 29th season of the Ron Lykins Masterworks Series, which opens on Oct. 23, 2011, and runs through May 13, 2012.
The 2011-2012 Season will showcase classical favorites such as Beethoven's
Symphony No. 1, and Mozart’s
Concertante for Violin and Viola featuring local musicians David Edge and Steven Weddell. In December, the Symphony will welcome Cabot Rea in a performance of Brett Lensley Adam’s stirring
Nativity Scenes.
Masterworks I at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, in the Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St., will include:
- Theofanidis, Rainbow Body
- Haydn, Symphony No. 73 in D Major “The Hunt”
- Sibelius, Symphony No. 2 in D Major
Sounds of the Season at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, in Riley Auditorium at Battelle Hall, 170 W. Park St., will include:
- Handel, Overture to Messiah
- Brett Lensley Allen, Nativity Scenes
- Narrated by Cabot Rea
- Brazillian Sleigh Bells (arr. Conley)
- Bradley Sowash, The Spirit of Christmas
Masterworks II at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012, in the Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St., will include:
- Mozart, Sinfonia Concertante in E Flat Major for Violin and Viola; Featuring David Edge, violin and Steven Weddell, viola
- Brahms, Symphony No. 1 in C Minor
Masterworks III at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2012, in the Fritsche Theatre at Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St., will include:
- Beethoven, Symphony No. 1 in C Major
- Shostakovitch, Symphony No. 5 in D Minor

www.westervillesymphony.org. Tickets for the three-concert Masterworks series are $50 for adults and $20 for youth. Tickets for the three-concert Masterworks series plus the December “Sounds of the Season” holiday concert are $65 for adults and $25 for students.
Single tickets for all concerts are $20 for adults and $5 for students. Otterbein students and faculty may present their IDs at the door for complimentary admission.
For the first time, a special 20% discount on all season ticket orders is available for seniors 60 and older on orders placed by Oct. 1, 2011. With the discount, senior ticket prices for the three-concert Masterworks Series is $40 and senior ticket prices for the masterworks series plus “Sounds of the Season” is $52. Orders must be placed by Oct. 1 to receive the discount.
