How to Apply to the Master of Arts in Education Program
- If you are applying for Summer 2009 or later, you may apply online or submit the paper application.
- Send two recommendation forms related to teaching success and/or qualifications to pursue graduate studies in education.
- Submit a photocopy of current teaching certificate/license.
- Interview with the Graduate Education Advisor in the Office of the Graduate School. Call (614) 823-3210 to schedule an appointment.
- Submit official transcripts for all previous college and/or university work. Please note: Transcripts must be sent directly to the the Graduate School Office from the post-secondary institution or hand-delivered by student in an unopened envelope from the issuing institution. In both instances, the transcript should come in a letterhead envelope.
- Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of a 3.0. Applicants who have a 2.5 - 2.99 cumulative GPA may be conditionally admitted by the Education Department. Review for full admission is contingent upon the completion of 15 graduate quarter hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Interview with MAE Director. Eligible students will receive a letter from the the Graduate School Office confirming receipt of all admission materials and instructing them to schedule the interview.
- Complete additional requirements if you are an international applicant.
- Please note that upon completion of the application, you may only enroll in up to 15 credit hours at the graduate level prior to completing your graduate admission file using the paper registration form.
Once all requested materials are submitted to the Graduate School, your file will be reviewed for admission by the Graduate Education Admissions Committee. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all materials have been submitted by the appropriate deadline.
