Legal Studies/Pre-Law Program

The American Bar Association does not prescribe a specific set of courses that will prepare students for admission into law school. Though law is one of the chief professional fields chosen by political science majors at Otterbein, students interested in law school major in a variety of fields. Otterbein has designed a Legal Studies minor to help all students in their pursuit of a career in law.

What You'll Learn
The Legal Studies minor focuses on the relationship between law and society, the principles of legal thought, and the decision-making process. Along with the available classes, internships are available for students, enhancing both their academic and professional experiences.

Prepare for Your Career
While a strong undergraduate record is important, admission to law school is also dependent upon the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Along with the available interdisciplinary Legal Studies minor, Otterbein's rigorous liberal arts curriculum helps develop powerful critical thinking and reasoning skills, both of which are essential for success on the LSAT.

Courses and Schedules
All Department of History and Political Science program requirements and courses are listed in the Otterbein College Undergraduate Catalog.
