MBA Program Curriculum

Students may earn their MBA by completing a total of 12 courses:

  • 8 core courses (32 credit hours)
  • 3 elective courses (12 credit hours)
  • 1 capstone course (4 credit hours)

TOTAL = 48 credit hours

Foundation Requirements
Students must be able to utilize certain skills and knowledge sets in order to complete the MBA program. Students must take all the foundation courses, earning a “B” or better in each, prior to taking MBA courses.

  • Mathematics and Statistics: Students must be proficient in statistics for business applications and the mathematics that drive modeling and decision-making.
  • Accounting: Students must understand basic accounting principles and applications.
  • Economics: Students must understand basic principles of micro- and macroeconomics.
  • Technology: Students must be proficient in word-processing, spreadsheets, graphic presentation applications, and the internet.

The foundation component requirements can be fulfilled by taking the following courses at Otterbein (or they may be transferred in from another accredited institution):

Mathematics & Statistics MATH 230 Statistics I (College Algebra is a required prerequisite to this course)

Economics ECON 210 Principles of Microeconomics
