The mathematical Sciences Department hosts a weekly coffee hour on Fridays in the Math Commons. All are welcome to enjoy coffee and cookies and to try to solve the Problem of the Week.

Undergraduate Mathematics Competition
In Spring 2009, otterbein will host the Annual ECC Undergraduate Mathematics Competition. This competition consists of students working in teams of 3 or 4 to solve as many mathematics problems as possible over a 3-hour period. The ECC is a consortium of regional liberal arts colleges. Otterbein teams finished third in the competition in both 2006 and 2007.

Actuarial Science Club
Central Ohio is a hotbed of Actuarial Science activity due to the number of insurance companies based or located in Columbus, Ohio. The Otterbein College Actuarial Science Club is a student organization that meets periodically to hear speakers from the local Actuarial Science community and to visit local facilities.

Computer Science Club
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world's largest professional organization for computer scientists. Otterbein has a student ACM chapter that meets occasionally for guest speakers and other activities. Several ACM students have attended the national Computer Science Education conference.
