Health and Safety

Otterbein is not only concerned that your student receives an exceptional education, but that he/she is healthy and safe in the college community. Otterbein College offers students a variety of health and safety services on campus, from a dedicated student health center to a counseling services tailored to college students, to ensure that a positive Otterbein experience is available to all students.

Campus Security

Otterbein's in-house Security Department has 10 full-time officers who provide 24-hour patrols of the entire campus. The Security Department also frequently conducts self-defense and crime prevention classes, as well as provides campus escorts, vehicle lockouts and jumpstarts, records information on valuable equipment, and much more. Cardinal Red Alert

This service allows College officials to deliver time-sensitive information and updates during unforeseen events and emergencies to students, faculty, and staff within minutes via text and TTY/TDD messages, voice messages, and e-mail. Your student(s) can sign up for Cardinal Red Alert by providing their contact information via the self-service web portal.

Counseling Services

College is an exciting time, but it can also be a time of anxiety and stress. Staffed by clinical psychologists and licensed social workers, Otterbein's Counseling Service offers a range of services tailored to college students. Learn more.

Student Health Services

The Otterbein Student Health Center is staffed daily by a registered nurse and various local family physicians to treat many illnesses and injuries, administer vaccines and immunizations, provide counseling on a variety of topics, and conduct routine exams. Learn more.
