Students Attend National PRSSA Conference
Department: Communication

Five students from Otterbein University’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter attended the PRSSA 2012 National Conference hosted in the heart of downtown San Francisco.

Chapter President Lindsey Hobbs received a coveted Betsy Plank Memorial Scholarship awarded for academic achievement, practical experience through internships and commitment to the professional practice of public relations.

“Bridging the Gap” between the student and professional stages, the conference offered networking between chapters across the nation and workshops for professional and leadership development. Keynote speakers included co-founder of Twitter, Biz Stone, and founder of Pandora, Tim Westergren, along with additional corporate leaders.

The group also had time to experience some highlights of “The City By the Bay,” such as Alamo Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, and the monumental Golden Gate Bridge. Representing the chapter were Hobbs, Jonathan Hill, Ashley Kraner, Janie Riddle and Paige Schortgen.
