I am a Visionary
Jordan Nelson
Department: INST
Major: Undecided
Class: 2015

Jordan Nelson has a vision. Categorizing himself as funny, shy, and music-obsessed, Jordan has already started exploring the variety of options Otterbein has to offer.

He has found inspiration from Tammy Birk’s “Reading, Writing, and the Literary Imagination” class, where he has discovered many new ideas to use for his writings. “It has influenced some lyrics that I have written, and has planted the seeds to some stories that will be coming soon,” Nelson said.

Jordan has hopes of becoming involved with traveling outside of the country and also joining Otterbein’s nationally recognized theatre program.

“I wanted to pace myself at first, but I intend to become involved with the theatre program,” he said. “It was one of my favorite things to do in high school and I would love to continue that here.”

Jordan says that even though he is a commuter, he feels “perfectly at home” at Otterbein. He has volunteered several times at the Habitat for Humanity site in Delaware, Ohio, where he enjoys the experience of getting to help people in person.
