Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts Honors Otterbein for Outstanding Web Design and Interactive Tours

The Winners of the 2016 W3 Awards were recently announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts with Otterbein University receiving a Silver Award for Best Website and Virtual Campus Experience.

Receiving nearly 5,000 entries, the W3 Awards honors outstanding websites, web marketing, web video, mobile sites/apps and social content created by some of the best interactive agencies, designers and creators worldwide. Otterbein University’s Virtual Campus Experience was produced by StudentBridge, a digital marketing agency specializing in educational recruitment and retention solutions. Otterbein’s Virtual Campus Experience won based on its unique design elements, high-end production values and personalization, giving prospective students an insider view of what it’s truly like to be on campus and helping them to answer the question “Will I Fit In?” as opposed to simply “Will I Get In?”

According to StudentBridge Founder and Vice Chairman Jonathan Clues, this question is what students need to answer when making the costly decision about what college or university to attend. “Students who feel they fit in are students who stay,” says Clues, whose company accurately portrays a school’s culture and feel, as opposed to just showcasing the buildings.

As a result, StudentBridge Virtual Campus Experiences are narrowing the graduation gap at hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide. The strategy has proven to be a most positive one for Otterbein University, who partnered with StudentBridge to raise the bar on their recruiting efforts.

“StudentBridge created a site that captures the student perspective about what it means to be an Otterbein student,” says Jefferson R. Blackburn-Smith, vice president for enrollment management at Otterbein. “Their insight into what students want to know was right on target.”

The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the Web and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning websites, web video and online marketing programs. W3 is the first major web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms and everyone in between. The awards are sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “who’s who” of acclaimed media, advertising and marketing firms. “We were once again blown away at the creativity and quality of this year’s entrants. As our connected world continues to expand in new and exciting ways, our winners are a true testament to the power of Web creativity around the globe,” said Linda Day, the director of the IAVA. “On behalf of the 750+ members of The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, we salute the talents and high level of execution our winners display and commend all of this year’s entrants for their dedication and commitment to online excellence.”
