Indian Printmaker Explores Birth, Rebirth, Time in Exhibit at Otterbein

In the exhibit “Seeds”’ at Otterbein University’s Frank Museum of Art, Indian printmaker Kavita Nayar explores themes of birth, rebirth and cyclical time.

Through symbolic motifs consisting of a human fetus with an umbilical cord and placenta, the lotus flower and leaf shapes, she suggests universal experiences.

In Seeds, Born Again & Again, In My Womb and Reborn, Nayar repeatedly speaks to notions of motherhood, nature and regeneration.
