Otterbein Prepares You for Internship Success

Internship Awareness Week events planned by the Center for Career and Professional Development

Otterbein’s Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) is available to students year round for advice on everything from choosing a major to choosing a career. Jan. 18-22 is Internship Awareness Week and the CCPD has special events planned to help students make the most out of their search and how to maximize their time and get the most out of their professional experiences.

Internship Poster Display, Jan. 19-22, Campus Center
Stop by the Campus Center to view the submissions of the 20+ students who entered the 2015 Internship Photo Contest. Posters will be on display all week. 

Internship Panel, 5 p.m., Jan. 20, Library 118
A panel of interns and internship supervisors will provide tips and strategies on how to maximize your internship. Interns will share their experiences and supervisors will discuss what they seek in an intern and how to stand out. 

Peer-to-Peer Internship Fair, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Jan. 21, Campus Center
Network with current students who have completed internships in a variety of industries. Learn about internship opportunities available to Otterbein students, build your networking skills and gain insight on how to search for internships and maximize your internship experience.

Internship Movie Day, 3-5 p.m., Jan. 22, CCPD
Stop by the CCPD to enjoy an internship-focused movie and free pizza.

Cardinal Career Conference on Jan. 23
The Cardinal Career Conference held from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, in Roush Hall, is a half-day event that will equip students with the tools and resources necessary to develop and successfully execute job and internship search strategies. Alumni and professionals representing a variety of industries will present on topics including: resume development, interviewing skills, personal branding with LinkedIn and job and internship search strategies. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with and hear from a panel of alumni. The event will culminate in an etiquette luncheon facilitated by a certified etiquette professional. This event is FREE and all participants will receive an Otterbein University padfolio. Advanced registration is required. Register at www.otterbein.edu/career by Tuesday, Jan. 19.
