Spotlights

Thank You

Kindness and commitment created a standout year for Otterbein University.

Generous gifts from Otterbein friends and alumni made sure more students from all walks of life had access to the Otterbein experience and enabled our educators to offer groundbreaking learning experiences using state-of-the-art technologies and facilities that reflect a changing world.

  • Every single gift matters—the Where We STAND Matters Campaign surpassed $40 million on the way to its historic $50 million goal.
  • Annual gifts (including gifts to The Otterbein FUND) from more than 4,300 donors during fiscal year 2017 exceeded $1.3 million. Nearly half of those gifts targeted strategic priorities; another third directly supported scholarships; and the remainder enhanced the student experience, academic excellence, or our beautiful campus in a variety of ways.
  • Otterbein is accessible to more students, with unchanged tuition since 2013 and new partnerships with Columbus City Schools and Columbus State Community College—and the Class of 2020 is already distinguishing themselves.
  • More than 70 new funds have been created across the University, including 48 earmarked for scholarships. In addition, we had our largest year ever in planned gift commitments, which will provide for a strong future.
  • And the impact is growing—among the more than 10,000 donors who have come aboard during the STAND Campaign, more than one-third made their very first gift to Otterbein and a record-breaking 54 percent of our faculty and staff supported the University with a gift this year. That’s the power of the Otterbein community.

These are just a few highlights from the past year that Otterbein friends and alumni made possible. Read more online at www.otterbein.edu/YearInReview.
