New living options to welcome new Cardinals

Making campus a welcoming new home for students is a top priority for Otterbein. A few new changes this upcoming semester will help incoming students get the most out of their living arrangements.

Otterbein offers students an opportunity to make connections with peers, faculty and staff from the moment they walk on campus with the Living Learning Communities (LLCs). The LLCs are theme based housing options that coincide with the First Year Seminar courses that all incoming students take. This year, Mayne Residence Hall will house both the Leadership LLC and the Honors program. In the past, these were in two different locations, causing students to choose between them. Now, interested students can participate in both areas simultaneously all under one roof. Plus, Radical Creativity is a brand new LLC for the 2016-17 academic year. Diving into the arts as forces of social revelation and social change, this LLC will be in Garst Residence Hall. Radical Creativity students will work on personal and collaborative projects for display on and off campus.

Making Otterbein your home is not just about where you live, but what you engage with while here. The Office of Residence encourages students to stay on campus over weekends to experience all the fun activities like outdoor festivals, guest speakers, movie nights and more, planned throughout the year. Residence Assistants also plan and lead outings to help students interact and take part in campus living. When things get too busy, take a mini-vacation to Alum Creek State Park Beach, just minutes from campus.
