Flock to Campus for Family Weekend

Otterbein’s Family Weekend gives an inside look at student life

When your student goes off to school, the remaining family can often wonder how students’ days are spent. Are they attending sporting events, eating in the cafeteria with friends and hanging out at social events with friends? Family Weekend is your chance to find out!

Otterbein University’s Family Weekend 2015, held Oct. 23-25, will be filled with opportunities to get the whole family involved on campus. Registration for this year’s Family Weekend includes a t-shirt, Saturday football game ticket against Baldwin Wallace and access to the Fall Harvest Festival and many more campus events.

"We hope that Family Weekend is a great time for Otterbein students to invite their families back to campus,” said Leah Schuh, assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement.

“While the weekend has many events, we hope families also find ample free time to explore Westerville, tour campus, and spend time with their son or daughter."

In addition to the football game and Fall Harvest Festival, Otterbein University Theatre will put on special performances of Much Ado About Nothing (advanced ticket required), art gallery exhibit tours and the annual Midnight Madness Halloween-themed event in Uptown Westerville, complete with trick or treating in various stores.

"I love being able to introduce my family to many of my friends, faculty, and staff at Otterbein during family weekend, and showing them why Otterbein is my second home,” said Maddie Hill ’17, a public relations major from Kent, Ohio. "It’s become a family tradition for my family and is something I look forward to each year."
