Otterbein students give thanks during holiday break

By Meagan Van Stone ‘19

This week we are celebrating what we are thankful for. Otterbein students are getting ready to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday by taking time to look back and see all that the university has done for them.

“At Otterbein, I’m most thankful for the welcoming community and student body,” said Jude Burnside ’17. “I’ve made so many amazing friends in my four years here, and they are all people who I will talk to for the rest of my life. I’m so thankful I chose Otterbein and had the chance to meet them!”

Several students feel that without Otterbein they would not have made the friendships they have now.

“Otterbein has given me so many opportunities. I have met my friends who I now consider family and discovered what I want to do for the rest of my life, all here at Otterbein,” said Lucas Fendrick ‘18

“Without Otterbein I wouldn’t have met my best friends,” said Lauren Rydzewski ‘19.

Students are also thankful for the education they are receiving at Otterbein.

“I am thankful for Otterbein for giving me the chance to gain a higher education that will better me in life,” said Katarina Tieu ’19. “I am also thankful for the connections, support, and people I have met here on this amazing campus.”

Dassan Jefferson is a member of the first engineering graduating class. He shares how thankful he is for the opportunity.

“I am thankful for the close relationships with professors, as well as the chance to be a part of the first graduating engineering class of Otterbein,” said Jefferson ‘19

Students are thankful to be a part of a bigger community.

"I am thankful for Otterbein because it’s a place to learn, to grow and to become a better person. I am so happy that I get to be a part of the Cardinal Family,” said Cameron West '19

Overall, there are several reasons to be thankful for the Otterbein community. We all love to share our Cardinal pride! Happy Thanksgiving!
