Syguda Earns CoSIDA Lifetime Achievement Award

Former Otterbein University Sports Information Director (SID) Ed Syguda has been selected as one of 11 professionals to receive the 2016 CoSIDA Lifetime Achievement Award, announced recently by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 1991 and is presented annually to CoSIDA members who have served at least 25 years in the profession and are now retiring or leaving the profession. Syguda marks the first member of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) to receive the honor.

Syguda spent 31 years as the SID at Otterbein, within the Office of Marketing and Communications, from 1984-2015 before taking a new role at the university. He now serves as a senior communications specialist and chief photographer.

"Ed's passion and integrity to the industry remained steady and of the utmost professional caliber during his tenure," said Jennifer Pearce, executive director of marketing and communications at Otterbein. "Many of our athletes were featured in the Columbus metro media outlets regularly - a challenging feat in the shadow of Ohio State. They got their due thanks to Ed and the relationships he formed over the years."
