SYE 476: India: Creating Social ChangeSYE India students put to use their service learning knowledge to work while spending two weeks in India. Students are required to attend a weekly class that during fall quarter. In the 10 weeks leading up to travel, students will participate in discussion, attend lecture and speaker events and do reflective writing assignments that incorporate readings, as well as integrate and synthesize their own relevant, previously acquired disciplinary and course knowledge. During the 14 day travel to India, students will participate in the service component of this course, namely visiting villages, performing observation and working in research teams with a translator to gather information for BJGVS. Students will work together, and the instructor, to produce a comprehensive report on their findings for BJGVS. For further information, contact Heidi Ballard.
