United Methodist Children's Home volunteers extend friendship and compassion to teens in transition from unstable home lives to foster care. At UMCH, Otterbein students build relationships with the teens and work on activities that provide encouragement for a bright future. Otterbein students are paired with a youth and meet with him or her once a week at the United Methodist Children's Home in Worthington. Otterbein faculty visit along with the mentors to present different topics ranging from science to career planning. These young adults are also invited to visit Otterbein once each quarter for a planned activity. This program won the 2000 Columbus Dispatch Newspaper Community Service Award.

UMCH meets from 3:30 - 5 p.m. on Tuesdays. For more information or to volunteer, contact the CardinalCorps Leader Chelsea Merriman.
