The Center for Community Engagement offers the following programs and services for our faculty members:

Service-Learning Mini Course Development Grants
Course development grants are available through an annual RFP. Mini-grants fund a summer faculty stipend, resources for the service activity, and a partner stipend.

One-on-One Course Construction Consultations
Consultations are available to help construct service-learning syllabi, write learning objectives, develop course reflection techniques, plan service activities, and negotiate logistical questions.

Partnership Relationship Building
The CCE works with faculty to coordinate community partnerships for service-learning courses. We will set up meetings with existing partners and develop new Otterbein Community Partnerships to meet course objectives.

Service-Learning Risk Management
We can assist with partnership agreement forms, student responsibility statements, and photo releases.

Funding Resources
The CCE works closely with the Office of Grants and Sponsored Projects to locate external funding for community engagement activities.

Service-Learning Teaching Circle
We host a quarterly dinner for faculty teaching service-learning courses to discuss current pedagogical issues and best practices.

Weekly Programs for Students
We can assist students in finding quarterly service placements by recruiting them into our weekly service programs. We will send a representative to classrooms to present weekly service opportunities on request.

Professional Development Workshops
We offer an annual end-of-the-year service-learning workshop for faculty teaching service-learning courses.

Service-Learning Student Assistants
We fund student assistants for service-learning courses. These students are trained by CCE in the basics of service-learning and can assist with logistics, mentoring, and partnership needs.

Grant-funded Opportunities
The CCE houses several national and local grant initiatives. We often offer evaluation, research, and teaching opportunities through these programs.
