Poverty, Hunger, and Homelessness

Otterbein works with many local agencies to help meet the needs of families living in poverty without homes and challenged daily with hunger.

Feeding the Children
CCE partners with the Children's Hunger Alliance through one of our community service weekly programs. Otterbein students work directly with underprivileged children in an after-school program in a Columbus Public School. The students teach the value of good nutrition and organize activities for the children.

Building Affordable Housing
Otterbein students, faculty, and staff work with Habitat for Humanity in community groups to hammer away at new or old houses constructed by and for lower income families.
