Wait List ProcedureWhen a class reaches its maximum enrollment and thus becomes closed, a Wait List is created for those students who would like to be added if and when openings occur. Notifications of openings are made throughout the year until shortly before the start of the term. At that point the wait lists are considered void and are removed from the registration system.
What to do if you ARE offered space in the class
If space becomes available prior to the waitlist deadline:
- you will receive an email confirmation indicating you have been added to a class from the waitlist.
-or- If offered space by the instructor after the start of classes:
- present the instructor's handwritten signed permission at the Office of the Registrar no later than the 4th day of the quarter so that Registrar personnel can add you to the class (the instructor's OK does not automatically add the student to the class; the handwritten signed permission must be presented by the student).
What to do if you are NOT offered space in the class
If not offered space in the class:
- show up at the class and check with the instructor to see if there might be space available; if space is available, obtain the instructor's handwritten signed permission and present it at the Office of the Registrar no later than the 4th day of the quarter so that Registrar personnel can add you to the class.
-or-
- periodically check at the Office of the Registrar from the 1st through 4th days of the quarter to see if space has become available; if space has become available, Registrar personnel will complete the add process on the spot
