    Dear Alumni & Friends,
Homecoming 2007 is just a few days away and we are gearing up for a big party.
Otterbein was founded 160 years ago and we will celebrate her birthday during Homecoming. If that's not reason enough to come home to Otterbein, check out this list (David Letterman would be so proud!)

The Top 10 Things to Do During Homecoming
#10. Eat a Schneider's doughnut in the Otterbean Cafe (they are calorie free on Homecoming...honest!)
#9. Walk your pooch in the parade.
#8. Tour the Department of Communication's new digs (all under one roof at 33 Collegeview Ave.)
#7. Check out the Cardinal Playground behind the Campus Center (it's not just for the kids!)
#6. Share your Otterbein memories on video for the oral history files.
#5. Show your Cardinal spirit at the football, women's soccer or women's volleyball games.
#4. Wear your old athletic sweater or let your kids wear them. (It's a great way to start encouraging them to make Otterbein their alma mater too!)
#3. See the plans for the Science Building renovation.
#2. March with the band at 1:30 p.m.
And the #1 reason to come home to Otterbein (drum roll....) there's no place like home!

    See you soon,
Becky Fickel Smith '81, Bonnie Robinson & Laurie Draper

    Volunteer Opportunities
If you can help with any of these needs, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations by e-mail or call 614-823-1964 or 1-888-614-2600.
picture of a hammer Are you handy with a hammer, saw, duct tape, etc?
Put those skills to good use helping groups build their floats for the parade. Student organizations are working on their floats in an Otterbein warehouse.  We need volunteers to provide tips and assistance as they construct their floats.  Float building times are Oct. 10-12 from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight. You can volunteer as much or as little as you like.  Contact Kate Porubcansky or Chris Hempfling to volunteer.
picture of a hand with the thumbs up gesture

Do you have a "thumbs up", "can do", "gung ho", "make it happen" attitude?
Then we need your help at the Tailgate 160th Birthday Party. We need volunteers to fill all sorts of roles at the tailgate. FREE gift for your efforts! Contact the Office of Alumni Relations to volunteer.

picture of a tricycle Tricycles or mattresses: Do you have one of these that you would be willing to loan us?
We are reviving the traditional Otterbein tricycle and mattress races during Homecoming. But we need more tricycles and mattresses. (Hint...this is a great way to clean out your garage.) Contact the Office of Alumni Relations if you can help with these needs.
picture of a vintage car Do you have a cool classic car?
Show off your "baby" in the parade and help transport our dignitaries. If you are interested in having your awesome automobile in the parade, please contact Brad Burton.
