Otterbein memories are full of rich and long-lasting traditions. Each memory carries a sense of nostalgia to the days gone by in the Quiet, Peaceful Village. New students entered into the rituals of Otterbein traditions the fall of each year . . . the Freshman Talent Show, bonfire with snake dances, scrap day, beanies, homecoming, tug-of-war, and Cap-Otter Football. The Christmas tree lighting glittered the campus during the holidays and visits to faculty homes. There were celebrations of royal nature crowning the Winter Princess, Miss T & C, May Queen, Sibyl Queen and Jump King. Greek Week, Jump Week, May Day, Spring Fling Day and Senior Night Out were full of ritual festivities. And one cannot forget the dear memories of housemothers, chapel, donut runs, victory bell rings, Barlow Beach, the GI, coke dates, and many others.
