Park City with lunch on your own followed by a train ride on the historic Heber Valley Railroad (Please note the elevation is 6,500 feet)
Tour and learn about the fascinating history of Park City. The history spans from Native American's roaming the meadows to mountain men hunting for the prize beaver to rugged miners discovering silver in 1849 to present day high country ski suburbanites. This silver mining boomtown was complete with saloons and brothels until raging fire destroyed three-fourths of the city. The colorful past is the heart of Park City. Today, it is a cultural Mecca for exceptional art galleries, clothing boutiques, Victorian homes and buildings that line Main Street. Park City may be small, but it has an abundance of great restaurants offering a selection of world-class fare served in many unique settings. Lunch will be on your own.
After lunch, we will experience the Heber Valley Railroad which is Utah's historic steam passenger train powered by a 1907 Baldwin steam engine. See upclose the breathtaking scenery, farmland of Heber Valley, shores of Dear Creek Lake, Provo Canyon, views of Mt. Timpanogos, Sundance Ski Resort, Soldier Hollow and much more during a 3 hour ride.
We will hold our Annual Banquet on Saturday evening at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel featuring reminiscences of our day and Otterbein hospitality.
