High Altitude and Healthy Travelers
Salt Lake City is of 4,226 feet above sea level. Park City is 6,500 feet. It is important for you to check with your doctor prior to traveling if you have heart complications. Other precautions must be taken for hyperthermia and sun exposure along with dehydration. Being in a dry atmosphere with lots of sunshine, it is imperative to drink plenty of water. The reduced oxygen and humidity can precipitate some unique problems known as mountain sickness. Among the symptoms are headaches, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, insomnia and lethargy.
