Otterbein Announces 20th President

Otterbein College is proud to announce that Dr. Kathy A. Krendl, Executive Vice President and Provost of Ohio University, will become the College's 20th president. Dr. Krendl will be the first woman to lead Otterbein, a school with a rich history of inclusiveness. Dr. Krendl will succeed President C. Brent DeVore, who will retire at the end of the academic year following 25 years as Otterbein's president. She will assume her role in July 2009. (more)

Watch as Tom Morrison '63, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, introduces Dr. Krendl as the next president of Otterbein on December 5, and see her acceptance remarks.

News "DeVore Hall" will be the name of the residence hall currently known as The Suites in honor of President C. Brent DeVore's 25 years of exemplary service to the College. (more)

Jack Rafferty '10, Otterbein quarterback, has been named one of ten finalists for the Gagliardi Trophy. The award recognizes the top individual achiever in athletics, academics and community service. (more)

Colin Hartnett, a 2003 graduate of the College of Wooster, is excited to be returning to Ohio to coach Otterbein's Men's Lacrosse team. (more)

Danielle Fabian '11 was recently awarded a Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Foundation Academic Service Entrepreneur Grant for her innovative community service program, Granola Girls. (more)

Kathy Mazza received the 2008 Director's Award of Distinction for her outstanding contributions to the Otterbein Athletic Department. (more)

Otterbein Alumni Club of Central Ohio

It was c-o-l-d on State Street, but hearts were warmed when alumni saw Cardy and these alumni marching in the Westerville Children's Christmas Parade on Dec. 7. Some familiar faces appear in this new comedy written by James Bailey, Professor Emeritus of English. Lynn Schwabacher Norman '65 is shown with a child from the Old Mutare Mission Center in Zimbabwe. Lynn serves on the Board of Directors of the Fairfield Outreach and Sponsorship Association, which funds the center. She will make her 11th trip to Africa in January `09.
