1977-1988 Track Reunion August 22 The 3rd annual Track Reunion for athletes coached by Porter Miller '65, Guido Ricevuto and Dave Lehman '70 was held Sunday, August 22, from 12:30-3 p.m. at Dave Lehman's home in Westerville. Alumni athletes and families enjoyed a Shane's Rib Shack meal sponsored by Pat Bennett '86, Scott Hill '85, and Mark Puskarich '86.

Alumni Night at the Blossom Music Center August 21 Otterbein and the Alumni Club of Greater Cleveland attended a rainy concert at the Blossom Music Center with The Blossom Festival Orchestra on Saturday, August 21. A few alumni braved the heavy downpours to join us in the picnic shelter for appetizers and dessert. At 8:30 p.m., the rain cleared and alumni and friends were able to move to the concert area. Alumni heard the orchestra play music from Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, Mary Poppins and much more. Excerpts from these classic films were projected on giant screens for all to see. At the end of the night, a spectacular fireworks display was seen directly above the Blossom Music Center.

Alumni Night at the Columbus Clippers Baseball Game August 20 Alumni and friends gathered on Friday, August 20 for socializing and appetizers at Rooster's On The Roof in Huntington Park starting at 6 p.m., followed by the 7 p.m. Columbus Clippers v. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees baseball game. At right, Greg Grant '87 and Kim Grant enjoy the Clippers game from the Otterbein Alumni group seats.

Summer Send-Off Cookouts August 9-15 Alumni Clubs around Ohio welcomed incoming students and their families to Otterbein through informal cookouts August 9-15. Summer Send-Off cookouts were held in Akron/Canton, Dayton, Westerville, Dublin and Cleveland. We would like to thank all of the alumni volunteers for their hard work! Alumni at the Columbus Zoo On July 17, about 77 alumni came out in the 90+ degree heat to enjoy a day at the #1 Zoo in America, The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! Alumni reconnected at the Tiger Shelter, enjoyed a multiple animal presentation compliments of Steph Mizer '95, followed by a cookout style lunch with free giveaways by our partner Liberty Mutual. Cardy the Cardinal was there to greet alumni as well! Liberty Mutual and the Alumni Club of Central Ohio worked together to plan and sponsor this event.

June Bug Jamboree 2010 The 14th annual JuneBug Jamboree Alumni Event was Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Bill '48 and Helen '47 LeMay's beautiful farm in Waynesville, Ohio. Over 110 alumni and friends enjoyed a delicious catered picnic and plenty of activities for family members of all ages. Activities included: Nature Hike led by Bob Henn '57, Fishing, Corn Hole, as well as Face Painting and OC Pennant Making for the kids!

Alumni Weekend 2010 Over 300 alumni from 39 different states came back to campus June 11-13 to celebrate Alumni Weekend. It was the Golden Reunion for the Class of 1960, but there were celebrations held for the Classes of 1945, 1950, 1955, 1965 and 1970 during the weekend as well.

Zero Year Reunion 2010 On Monday, June 7, all of the graduating seniors gathered for commencement rehearsal followed by the class picture and the Zero Year Reunion celebration. Seniors were treated to food, gifts from the Office of Alumni Relations, music, cornhole, and over $1000 in door prize baskets from various Otterbein departments and businesses around Columbus!

Founder's Day 5K Donut Run and Convocation Alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members joined together for Otterbein Founder's Day activities April 25 and 26. Sunday activities included a 5K Donut Run around Westerville, Scrap Day games in the Clements Recreation Center and kayaking on Alum Creek. Monday activities included a Convocation celebrating the history and music of Otterbein, followed by a reception in Roush Hall.

23rd Annual Spring Community Plunge Over 400 students and alumni gathered on Saturday, April 24, to participate in on-campus, as well as off-campus, community service efforts. This year alumni stayed on-campus and planted trees for the campus beautification project and made blankets and Get Well packages with the Girl Scouts of America.

Young Alumni Social Event The Young Alumni Leadership Team and the Office of Alumni Relations organized a young alumni social event April 22, 2010 at Keystone Pub near Polaris Parkway. Over 25 young alums showed up and as you can see from the pictures, everyone had a great time relaxing after work, reconnecting with old friends, and meeting new friends! Student Alumni Association 'Etiquette and Networking Night' SAA hosted an ‘Etiquette and Networking Night’ to help students learn how to appropriately communicate and interact with co-workers and peers in a dining/networking environment. Over 25 student and alumni attendees enjoyed appetizers provided by Bon Appétit, an etiquette instruction led by Heather McClish ’00, a speed networking activity led by Lucas Homan ’11, followed by small group career discussions with 6 alumni.

Career Transitions Workshop April 10, 2010 Otterbein University hosted the Navigating Your Career Transition Workshop from 8 a.m.-12:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 10. Four workshops were offered that were designed to assist alumni, adult learners, and community members affected by the downturn of the job market. Each workshop was presented by an alumnus of Otterbein who is a career strategy expert.

OARS (Otterbein Alumni Recruiting Students) April 2010 Several alumni gathered during the month of April to make admissions calls to admitted students. Alumni enjoyed the camaraderie and a chance to answer questions about what life is like at Otterbein and what is means to be a part of the Otterbein family. Annual Southwest Florida March Luncheon The Southwest Florida annual luncheon was a special affair this year with the new Otterbein President, Kathy A. Krendl attending. About 50 attendees gathered on Saturday, March 6 at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Myers, FL. The club collected groceries for the Fort Myers Area Community Cooperative Ministries food pantry. |

3rd Annual AAAN Hall of Fame Reception The AAAN held its 3rd annual Hall of Fame Reception on Feb. 26, 2010 at the Columbus Urban League. The Hall of Fame Committee selected two graduates (one male, one female) to be recognized for their professional accomplishments and service contributions in their career, to Otterbein and to their community. |

SW Florida ECHO Farm Tour and Lunch Otterbein Alumni assembled on February 20, 2010 to enjoy a tour of ECHO Farm (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organizations) in Ft. Myers, Florida. ECHO is dedicated to fighting world hunger through innovative options, agricultural training and networking with community leaders, Peace Corps workers and missionaries in 180 countries. |
