PHILOSOPHY:
1. Recruit Central Ohio:
The starting point for our recruiting plan is the recruitment of three areas of central Ohio High School Football. The core of our football program must come from these three areas.
A. Ohio Capital Conference- The suburban Columbus Schools
B. Central Ohio Catholic High Schools
C. Columbus City Schools

2. Recruit Numbers:
We must visit as close to 500 prospects annually in a hope of having a minimum of 80 student-athletes deposit every year.

3. Recruit Year-round:
With the inability to off-campus recruit we must through the use of mailings and phone calls continually stay in touch with Ohio High School coaches.

4. Track local prospects:
Keep tabs on players that choose to play at other colleges.

ADMISSIONS:
Prospect and recruit the best student-athlete within the parameters of the admission guidelines of Otterbein college.

FINANCIAL AID:
As coaches we must do everything in our power to ensure that our prospective student -athletes meet there financial aid deadlines.

PLAN:
We are looking to build a long-term football program. To do this at Otterbein we must be able to recruit urban players, suburban players and rural players. The backbone of the program MUST be academically sound players.

Recruiting Plan:
1. Evaluation of student-athletes is critical.
2. Recruit speed, athleticism, good citizens, and heart.
3. Organize yearlong recruiting effort.
4. Have best campus visit, letter series, summer orientation.
5. Outwork our opponents.
