OTTERBEIN'S ADULT PROGRAMS HOST INFORMATION SESSIONS

Otterbein College's Continuing Studies Program, MBA Program, MAE and MAT Program and Graduate Nursing Program are holding a general information session on Tuesday, Feb. 5, for those interested in learning more about earning degrees as an adult student.

The session will begin with a reception at 5:15 p.m. in the lobby of Roush Hall, 27 S. Grove St., Westerville, with information sessions starting at 5:30 p.m. Register at http://www.otterbein.edu/infosessions.

The Continuing Studies Program offers over 50 majors for working adults, including Liberal Studies in Leadership, with concentrations in Organizational Communication and Psychology. This major enhances the capabilities of managers in the workplace and prepares others for managerial positions. In addition, the Organizational Communication major will now be offered at Central Ohio Technical College in Newark.

Offering flexible day, evening and weekend classes, the Continuing Studies Program allows students to earn a bachelor's degree while keeping up with work and family commitments and offers many advantages, including small classes, extended office hours, a variety of payment plans, part-time tuition and personalized attention. For more information, call (614) 823-1356 or visit www.otterbein.edu/CS.

The selective admission and small classes of the Otterbein College MBA Program help create a setting for networking, discussion, and debate, among talented students and faculty. Graduates report gaining insights about their leadership and management and learning business solutions to contribute to their organizations. For more information, call (614) 823-3210 or visit www.otterbein.edu/mba.

Otterbein College's Graduate Nursing faculty members are reaching out to a college near you with interactive nursing courses, in addition to its traditional classes at its main campus in Westerville. Using an interactive compressed video (ICV) system, Otterbein's on-campus nursing faculty can teach graduate courses in classroom sessions at various campuses, with opportunities for on-campus and off-campus student interaction.

The graduate nursing program provides a high quality Otterbein education at locations convenient to students across the state. Remote classrooms are accessible to Otterbein's nursing instructors through a broadcast camera, microphones and a television monitor that allows students to view lectures, videotapes and computer displays. In addition, students can see other students enrolled in the course at other distance learning locations. The classroom is designed to facilitate discussions and student presentations at distant sites.

Otterbein's MSN degree offers majors in Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, Adult Health Care and Nursing Service Administration. Post Master options include Post Masters Nurse Practitioner and Adult Nurse Practitioner. Otterbein's new Post Master Advanced Practice Nurse Educator concentration has two tracks: Teaching in a Nursing Program and Staff Development/Patient Education.

Otterbein's unique Clinical Nurse Leader program is the first in central Ohio. Students can earn an MSN degree in only 15 months, a quality but shorter master's program designed especially for the experienced nurse. Working nurses can combine clinical learning with their current position to create a clinical immersion experience. Students in the Clinical Nurse Leader major will develop skills such as transformational leadership, change management, conflict resolution and integration of evidence-based practice. For more information about the program, call (614) 823-3210 or 1-888-749-8550 or go online to www.otterbein.edu/nursing.

The Master of Arts in Education (MAE) serves state certified teachers who desire to improve their knowledge and skills. Two major areas of study are offered: Curriculum & Instruction and Reading. The program also offers several Professional Development/Non-Degree options. This option allows students to renew a current or expired license, to add licensure, to pursue Masters plus or to add a Reading Endorsement.

For those new to education, the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program is designed to provide an alternative route to initial teacher licensure for individuals with baccalaureate degrees in non-education areas. Licensure through the MAT is for the Middle Childhood strand only.
