Otterbein College will host the Kule Mele African Dance Ensemble at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, in the Fritsche Theatre in Cowan Hall, 30 S. Grove St., Westerville. This Black History Month event is free and open to the public.
The Kule Mele African Dance Ensemble has been performing for over three decades. Based in Philadelphia, the troupe performs across the nation with a repertoire that includes the music and dance of Nigeria, Ghana, Guinea, Senegal, Brazil, Haiti, Cuba and America. All dances are authentically costumed and choreographed to convey artistic excellence as well as the meanings of dancing and drumming in the African societies represented.
