OTTERBEIN COLLEGE THEATRE PRESENTS A DELICATE BALANCE

Otterbein College continues its season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, A Delicate Balance, which runs Oct. 29-31 and Nov. 6-7 in the Campus Center Theatre, 100 W. Home St., Westerville.

A wealthy middle-aged couple, Agnes and Tobias have their complacency shattered when Harry and Edna, longtime friends appear at their house, which is already full with Agnes’ alcoholic sister, Claire, and the couple’s daughter, Julia, who has returned home after her fourth failed marriage. Claiming an encroaching, nameless “fear” has forced them from their own home, Harry and Edna bring a firestorm of doubt, recrimination and ultimately solace, upsetting the “delicate balance” of the household of Agnes and Tobias.

Penned by Edward Albee, author of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama A Delicate Balance premiered on Broadway in 1966 and enjoyed a stunning Broadway revival in 1996 with George Gizzard, Rosemary Harris and Eliane Stritch, for which it won the 1996 Drama Desk Award for Best Revival.

Tickets for A Delicate Balance are $15 each and can be reserved by calling the Otterbein College box office at (614) 823-1109. The box office is open 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to performances. The box office is located in Cowan Hall, 30 Ss Grove St., Westerville.

The opening night performance on Thursday, Oct. 29, begins at 7:30 p.m. and is followed by a reception. All other performances begin at 8 p.m.
