
Acoustic musician Derek Mortland will share his experiences as a musician and as a person with a physical disability at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24 in the Battelle Fine Arts Center's Riley Auditorium, 170 W. Park St., Westerville. The performance and discussion is free and open to the public.
Mortland became physically disabled after a crash at the St. Louis Speedway left him with a head injury and partial paralysis. He will discuss the challenges he has overcome professionally and personally to become an acclaimed musician and disability rights advocate.
