Dr. Henry C. Smith III Earns CFE Designation

Austin, Texas – January 22, 2007 – The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the world’s leading provider of anti-fraud training and education, is pleased to award Dr. Henry C. Smith, III the globally preferred “Certified Fraud Examiner” (CFE) designation. CFEs are knowledgeable in four areas critical to the fight against fraud: Fraudulent Financial Transactions, Criminology & Ethics, Legal Elements of Fraud, and Fraud Investigation.

The ACFE’s Board of Regents awards this designation only to select professionals who meet a stringent set of criteria, including character, experience, and education. Dr. Smith has successfully met these criteria and now joins the ranks of over 16,000 business and government professionals worldwide who have also earned the CFE certification.

PROMOTIONS & TENURE

Congratulations to the following faculty who have been granted tenure status and promoted to Associate Professor:

Dr. Dennis J. Whalen, Associate Professor of Finance

All promotions and tenure are effective September 1, 2006.

Professor Charles G. Smith has been appointed “Senior Fulbright Scholar.” As such, he is eligible to consult with universities around the world.
