Next Seminar Dates To Be Announced

Description
General Description
Join us for a ten-day adventure (8 nights in Chile) in this dynamic, spectacularly beautiful country. We will explore the capital, Santiago, a city of five million people and the economic and financial center of this vibrant economy. We will travel to Valparaiso, a historic seaport and university center, and to the beautiful city of Viña del Mar. We will fly north into the desert of Atacama, the home of the largest copper mine in the world. We will examine the fascinating history and present-day institutions of this dynamic economy. Participants also visit the home of Chilean writer Pablo Neruda, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, and learn about trade relations with the US and the region. After flying north to Calama, participants tour the famous copper mine of Chuquicamata, while learning about the importance of mining to the Chilean economy since the time of the Incas. In the high Andean desert, participants will also explore the Valley of the Moon, Death Valley, the Atacama salt flats, the thermal geysers of Tatio, Inca remains at San Pedro de Atacama, and the archeological museum of Padre Le Paige.
