Curriculum A major in Psychology requires 50 hours of Psychology credits as detailed below. Class descriptions are available on the Registrar's site. PSYC 100 General Psychology - 5 hours MATH 230 Statistics - 5 hours PSYC 260 Experimental - 5 hours Basic Change Processes: One course from among PSYC 210 Child Development, PSYC 211 Adult Development, and PSYC 230 Psychology of Learning - 5 hours Personality, Social, and Abnormal: One course from among PSYC 220 Psychology of Personality, PSYC 225 Social Psychology, and PSYC 330 Abnormal Psychology - 5 hours Biological and Cognitive Bases: One course from among PSYC 250 Physiological Psychology, PSYC 305 Psychology of Perception, PSYC 310 Cognitive Psychology, and PSYC 380 Human Stress - 5 hours Epistemology: One course from among PSYC 275 Multicultural Psychology, PSYC 370 History & Systems, and PSYC 375 Psychology of Women - 5 hours Remaining hours to reach 50 from among other PSYC courses, except 290, 390, 440, and 490. At least one 200-level course is required before enrolling in 300- and 400-level courses. At least 15 of the 50 total hours must be at the 300/400 level. Note: INST 130 is not a psychology course and does not count toward the psychology major. |
