GLBTQ Advisory Committee

The GLBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) Advisory Commission was established in 2005 by a group of students, faculty, and administrators at Otterbein College.

Mission Statement
Fostering collaboration among faculty, staff, administration and students, the GLBTQ Advisory Commission works to make Otterbein a more welcoming, responsive, and dynamic place for GLBTQ persons, their allies, and all members of the college community.

Goals

  • To explore and assess the existing campus climate
  • To advocate for equality, openness, respect, and inclusion
  • To identify and advance initiatives that promote an affirming and stimulating learning environment

News

GLBTQ Advisory Committee, Wellness Receive $500 Grant
The Columbus Foundation granted $500 to Otterbein College for Lost and Found: Anxiety and Depression. Coordinated by the GLBTQ Advisory Commission and the campus Wellness Office, this project will ensure that campus wellness programming includes tailored, targeted conversations about issues that can resonate differently or distinctly in the GLBT community, like anxiety and depression. The project includes an informational print media campaign and a film and guided discussion.
