April 2008
Schear Hall has undergone some major changes during the past month. On the south side of the building the foundation has been poured creating the footprint for the new 30,000 sq. ft. addition to the science center. On Monday, April 7, 2008, crews started to construct the large steel structure. The new addition will consist of many new laboratories, project laboratories, and offices.
The interior of Schear Hall has been completely gutted and crews are beginning to configure and frame the hallways and rooms. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid 2009. Upon completion, the science center will consist of 96,000 sq. ft. including a large glass atrium which will serve as the grand entrance to the facility and lead to an outdoor plaza.
