Students admitted to Otterbein College are eligible to become a Health Education Major automatically if they so desire. Within the Health Education major, students may choose to pursue a Health Education major with a concentration in Public Health (non teacher licensure) or seek Multi-age (preK-12) license to teach in the public schools.
Students choosing to seek teacher licensure must also meet the Education Department Teacher Education Program requirements:
Transfer students wishing to pursue teacher licensure must first contact the transfer counselor in the Admissions Office for specific information related to this process.
Students seeking teacher licensure are encouraged to double major (e.g. Health Education and Physical Education) to increase their employment options. (Please note a double major may take more than 4 years to complete.)
Students not seeking teacher licensure work with their academic advisers to individualize their program to best fit their respective career interests while meeting graduation requirements (minimum 2.0 Otterbein GPA required).
